Bruce Tulio: Service & Adventure

What gives your life meaning and purpose? That is, in many ways, the most primal and existential of all questions, a query that we all find ourselves asking at our moments of greatest introspection. And certainly, there are plenty of different answers that could be proffered. For many people, the response likely has something to do with work. For others, family. And for some, religious faith, or some kind of humanitarian cause. But for others, the question is a little more complex.

That’s where we find a man like Bruce Tulio. No, this is no celebrity we’re talking about here, nobody you have heard of before; he is, on one level, just an average businessman. And yet, Bruce Tulio is also a fine example of what it means to live a life of complexity and multi-faceted curiosity. The narrative of his life is written in terms of compassionate, humanitarian service; and, of adventure!

Indeed, Bruce Tulio has been involved in many charities, many causes, and many exciting exploits—and he devoted himself to each of them with singular passion. Here is a quick rundown of his resume:

  • Bruce Tulio was Co-Chairman for the Alumni fundraising effort to reopen and support Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia, which closed its doors in 2010 after 85 years of devoted service to the surrounding community.
  • He is also an avid scuba diver, and former spokesman for the PADI Diver’s Society—and that’s not even the only exotic, aquatic sport in which he engages; Bruce Tulio is also a big fan of competitive sailing.
  • He is a happy Ferrari driver, and is even a member of various Ferrari associations.
  • And in addition to his many adventures in skiing, sailing, and fundraising, would you believe that Bruce Tulio has been knighted, not just once but twice? He holds honorable titles in both Switzerland and France.

All of this goes to show just how rich and varied one’s life can be when a thirst for adventure and a heart for serving others lie at the core; Bruce Tulio knows it well, because he lives it every day!
