Bruce Tulio: Passion Takes Flight

Flying is something that we, as human beings, have always dreamed of. The notion of a man or woman flying was the subject of scientific interest as well as mythological intrigue, well before the Wright Brothers ever made their first flying machine. Even today, it’s something that can thrill and excite us. Those of us who regularly board planes for work-related travel may have forgotten some of the old magic associated with flying, yet those of us who don’t fly regularly still regard it as something special. And kids? They dream of flying all the time!

How many of us actually fly, though—not just as passengers, but actually as the one controlling the flight? The answer is very few of us, but it should come as no surprise that the adventure-seeking Bruce Tulio—he who so dearly loves diving, competitive sailing, and driving his Ferrari—is also a licensed pilot.

Bruce Tulio has had a pilot’s license for a few years now—no easy feat, mind you. As you can imagine, the test for becoming a pilot is quote rigorous. It takes a lot of learning and a lot of hands-on education, followed by a high-pressure test in which the wannabe-flyer is cast, quite literally, into the pilot’s seat and asked to demonstrate the full range of that knowledge.

Since receiving his license, Bruce Tulio has been a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Bruce Tulio joins more than 400,000 other pilots in this storied association. With the rest of the members of this organization, Bruce Tulio promotes advocacy, leadership, technical savvy, and hard work on behalf of all member pilots; besides that, he continues to take great joy, and find great excitement, in flying his airplane.

And it is quite an airplane, by the way; Bruce Tulio is the proud pilot of a Cessna 152, a two-seater that is exceedingly popular with pilots who fly only for private, personal use. His love of flying is, of course, just one of his many hobbies—to say nothing of his many charitable causes—but it should come as no great surprise that Bruce Tulio devotes himself to this pursuit with passion and conviction.
